Sr Personal Banker
About the Role
As a key member of Northern Trust’s Wealth Management team, you will engage with business unit subject matter experts to explore potential client opportunities and provide holistic advice on assigned relationships. Your role involves cross-selling, identifying client needs, and executing account servicing activities such as processing wires, fund transfers, opening and closing accounts, and maintaining accurate records. You will also handle cash transactions, daily balancing, and safe deposit box servicing where available.
You will demonstrate expertise in setting up client accounts, ensuring documentation completeness, and adhering to Northern Trust’s Risk Management and Compliance guidelines. A strong understanding of business applications, client servicing tools, and the latest enhancements to Northern Trust’s technology is essential. Additionally, you will mentor fellow Personal Bankers, share expertise in deposit operations, and train others as needed.
Responsibilities
- Engage with business unit subject matter experts to explore client opportunities.
- Provide maintenance and holistic advice on assigned relationships through cross-selling and identifying client needs.
- Execute and submit client account servicing activities, including wires, fund transfers, account openings/closings, and document imaging.
- Proactively communicate with relationship management and NCSS teams to obtain necessary information for requested activities.
- Handle paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing.
- Adhere to WM Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes where available.
- Set up all types of client accounts and services, ensuring documentation completeness.
- Maintain a strong understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines, escalating issues as needed.
- Stay informed on business applications, client servicing tools, and system enhancements.
- Monitor banking reports and assist with audits as directed.
- Mentor fellow Personal Bankers and train others as designated.
- Share expertise in deposit operations and respond to client questions about products and services.
Requirements
- Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services, preferably acquired through related work experience.
- Understanding of federal regulations and banking guidelines, gained through work experience or formal training.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 3-5 years of related experience.

Pay
Salary range: $64,170 - $102,810 USD (base pay estimate).
