Responsibilities

  • Understands the business model and engages SMEs to explore potential opportunities with clients.
  • Maintains and provides holistic advice on assigned relationships by cross-selling and identifying client needs.
  • Executes and/or submits client account servicing activities within appropriate time frames, including processing wires and fund transfers, opening and closing accounts, maintaining accurate and complete account records, imaging documents, and researching client issues.
  • Proactively communicates with relationship management and NCSS teams to obtain necessary information to properly execute the requested activity.
  • Handles paying and receiving activities, including cash transactions and daily balancing activities, adhering to WM Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures.
  • Assists with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes in offices where available.
  • Demonstrates expertise in setting up all types of client accounts and services, reviewing documentation for completeness, and following through to avoid deficiencies.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of policies and procedures, addressing requirements in a timely manner and in strict adherence with Northern Trust and Wealth Management Risk Management and Compliance guidelines and procedures, escalating any issues and/or concerns to management.
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of various business applications critical to client and account servicing, seeking to expand knowledge of the latest enhancements to Northern Trust partner and client technology.
  • Keeps informed of new products and services to respond to client questions and assist in selling services that expand the overall client relationship.
  • Maintains awareness of banking reports and provides assistance with banking audits as directed by the Team Leader / Manager.
  • Serves as a mentor to fellow Personal Bankers, offering guidance, encouragement, and direction as needed.
  • Trains others as designated by the Team Leader/Manager on deposit-related topics.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of banking operations, products, and services, preferably gained through related work experience.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations and banking guidelines, usually acquired through related work experience or formal training.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to identify, research, and/or resolve requests, manage conflicting priorities, and manage workflow.
  • Ability to think critically and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience

3-5 years of related experience are preferred for this role.
