About the role
Develops and retains commercial business within a designated region, meeting with prospects and clients of moderate size and complexity under limited supervision.
- Makes calls independently and may accompany more experienced personnel on larger account visits.
- Gathers related financial and general business information, performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions, participates in team credit decisions and communicates with prospects and clients to close sales.
Responsibilities
- Develops broader knowledge base of commercial and other products and services, including loan policy, documentation, structuring and regulatory requirements.
- Continues developing a network of outside referral sources for new business.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as well as bank guidelines, policies, procedures, regulatory and BSA requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in originating first and second mortgages, construction loans, home equity lines of credit and other portfolio-type products.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, finance or management preferred.
- Wholesalers and rate sheets knowledge.
- Underwriting knowledge, from origination to loan closing and construction draws.
- Strong consultative sales skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to handle frequent changes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the institution’s privacy policies.
- Ability to meet attendance standards and work overtime if needed.
