Sr. Paid Search Specialist (Remote)
About Us
We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being. We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare. Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.
About The Role
We are hiring a Sr. Paid Search Specialist to support the day-to-day execution of Rula's Paid Search program—one of the largest in the mental health space, across our Therapy and Psychiatry service lines. Reporting to the Director of Patient Performance Marketing and working alongside the Sr. Paid Search Manager, you will be a key operator of a program that optimizes for patient Starts and lifetime value, and your work will directly determine how many people can access mental health care through Rula. You will partner closely with Analytics, Finance, and Brand to build a program that is both technically sophisticated and deeply mission-aligned. This role is for someone who finds real satisfaction at the intersection of performance rigor and meaningful impact and who wants ownership, not just execution.
Responsibilities
- Execute and optimize a large-scale Paid Search program ($20M+ annual spend) with a focus on patient acquisition and lifetime value.
- Implement and refine value-based bidding (VBB) strategies in Google Ads, including tROAS and Smart Bidding value rules.
- Manage and optimize Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads campaigns, leveraging Smart Bidding, audience segmentation, and automated rules.
- Apply LTV-based performance frameworks to drive growth and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Analytics, Finance, and Brand teams to align Paid Search efforts with business goals.
- Utilize BI tools like Looker to analyze performance and inform strategy.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on paid search experience executing programs at significant scale ($20M+ annual spend).
- Deep, practical expertise in value-based bidding, including managing and optimizing VBB strategies in Google Ads (tROAS, Smart Bidding value rules).
- Strong command of Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads campaign management, including Smart Bidding strategies, audience segmentation, and automated rules.
- Fluency with LTV-based performance frameworks.
- Proficiency with Looker or comparable BI tools.
- Strong analytical foundation.
Preferred Qualifications
While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.
- Experience in healthcare, health-tech, or businesses where customer LTV is central to growth economics.
- Familiarity with multi-service line or multi-brand paid search program management.
- Experience with feed-based or audience-driven value signals (e.g., customer match, value rules based on predicted LTV segments).
- Exposure to media mix modeling or incrementality testing in a paid search context.
- Familiarity with first-party data activation and audience segmentation strategies.
Benefits
- 100% remote work environment with flexible working hours to support work-life balance (must be based in the United States, excluding Hawaii).
- Attractive pay and benefits with full transparency of pay ranges regardless of location in the U.S.
- Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA.
- 401(k) plan access for future savings.
- Generous time-off policies, including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees).
- Paid parental leave for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supporting mental and physical health.
- Quarterly department stipend for team-building activities or in-person gatherings.
- Community and employee resource groups celebrating identity and fostering belonging.
- Home office stipend for new hires and a $50 monthly stipend for internet or cell phone expenses.
- Wellness at Rula program with year-round initiatives and a $50/month wellness stipend.
