Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
- Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
- Analyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
- Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grants, and executive requests.
- Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
- Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
- Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
- Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
- Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
- Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle SQL development and maintenance.
- Experience with PL/SQL programming and Oracle database architecture.
- Strong understanding of SQL concepts, including normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
- Proficiency in using Oracle SQL Developer, SQL*Plus, and other SQL tools.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
