About the Role

This position can be filled at either the Operations Instructor or Senior Operations Training Instructor level. The role demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in developing, implementing, and evaluating plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance improvement through training for Reactor Operators (RO) and Non-Licensed Operators (NLO) using Constellation's systematic approach to training.
• Maintain current training programs incorporating insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Constellation Nuclear Event Reports (NERs), NRC Bulletins, design changes, procedure revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports.
• Prepare and conduct trainee examinations and evaluations in classroom, laboratory, OJT, and simulator environments; provide counseling and develop individualized training programs.
• Support business initiatives, project management, refuel outages, emergency preparedness, and special projects.
• Participate in NRC, INPO, and management audits; prepare responses to audit findings.
• Maintain knowledge of plant operations and disciplinary skills to deliver high-quality training.
• Supervise the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports.
• Achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position.
• Perform additional duties as directed, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and outage support.

Requirements

Operations Instructor (E02)

• High school diploma/GED with 6 years of related experience (e.g., test reactor, commercial, industrial, or military power plant operator), OR
• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, education, or training with 4 years of related experience, OR
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science, education, or training with 2 years of related experience.
• Meets or exceeds ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.5.4) Standard for selection, qualification, and training of nuclear personnel.
• Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable.

Senior Operations Training Instructor (E03)

• Previous Equipment Operator with 6 years of related experience, OR
• Associate's degree in a technical discipline, education, or training with 4 years of nuclear technical background or 6 years of related experience, OR
• Current or previous licensed Reactor Operator or SRO certification with 4 years of related experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related science, education, or training with 3 years of nuclear technical background or 4 years of related experience, OR
• Current or previous SRO license.
• Meets or exceeds ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.4.3) Standard for selection, qualification, and training of nuclear personnel.
• Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial nuclear training.
• Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT).

Pay

• Operations Instructor: $107,100 to $119,000, based on experience.
• Senior Operations Training Instructor: $139,500 to $155,000, based on experience.
