About the role

As a key member of the clean energy center (CEC) team, you will drive performance improvement through advanced training programs. Your responsibilities include coordinating and conducting performance-based operations Reactor Operator (RO)/Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) training programs, ensuring they remain current and incorporate relevant regulatory updates.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance improvement through training initiatives.
  • Coordinate and conduct RO/NLO training programs as required by user community.
  • Maintain and update training programs according to department procedures and industry standards.
  • Conduct trainee examinations and evaluations in various environments (classroom, laboratory, OJT, simulator).
  • Support CEC and fleet in business initiatives, project management, refuel outages, emergency preparedness, and special projects.
  • Participate in audits and respond to audit findings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plant operations and disciplinary skills.
  • Supervise the collection and maintenance of training records.
  • Perform other job assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Previous Equipment Operator experience with 6 years in related fields (e.g., test reactors, commercial, industrial, or military power plants).
  • Associate's degree in technical disciplines, education, or training with 4 years of nuclear technical background.
  • Current or previous Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification with 4 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear) or related field with 3 years of nuclear technical background.

Qualifications

  • Must achieve Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification within 18 months of assuming the position.
  • Minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable.
  • Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties.

Skills

Experience in commercial nuclear training, knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT), and ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of plant operations are preferred.
