Sr. MTS, Power Module Design

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Power Module Design Member of Technical Staff with expertise in power module design to join onsemi’s Power Solutions Group design team. This role will contribute to our goal of becoming the global leader in Intelligent Power solutions. You will work with an innovative portfolio of Silicon Carbide (SiC) solutions, alongside IGBTs, MOSFETs, and GaN technologies, to enhance our product roadmap with creative solutions that meet customer needs.

The successful applicant will be based in our office in Scottsdale, San Jose, or Livonia.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to define platform architecture for state-of-the-art high power modules.
• Provide technical ownership and leadership to develop, qualify, and release primarily SiC power modules, alongside other power solutions.
• Exercise engineering product ownership, implementing feasible designs, assessing technical risk, and making sound engineering judgments.
• Lead a cross-functional team to formulate predictive working designs using ECAD and MCAD tools.
• Drive a global cross-functional team for new product development, focusing on execution quality.
• Partner with engineering teams to drive product-level DFQM, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
• Collaborate with leading customers to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful design-in execution.
• Frequently engage internal and external stakeholders to communicate project status.

Requirements

• Minimum Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Over 10 years of experience in power semiconductors and power electronics, with at least 5 years in design or development.
• Proficiency in ECAD tools such as PSpice, SIMetrix, Ansys EM, and Ansys CFD is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in MCAD tools such as Solidworks or PTC Creo is an advantage.
• Decisive, strong technical leadership, and self-driven to resolve tough engineering challenges.
• Fluency in English is required.
