What We Need
The Sr. Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for implementing and maintaining Mechanical improvements and projects as support for Mechanical Engineers throughout the company. They are also responsible for the development and testing of mechanical equipment (non-electrical) including steam, mechanical power generation, HVAC, hydraulics, instrumentation, tooling pollution control and other systems.
What You'll Do
- Installing new equipment and integrating it into existing systems
- Developing project documentation, including CAD drawings and technical specifications
- Providing technical support for manufacturing operations, troubleshooting process equipment and other systems
- Calibrating desired production settings on roll gaps and performing high precision measurements/fine adjustments
- Performing preventative maintenance schedules, diagnosing, and fixing faults in equipment and machinery
- Fabricating components and, if required, installing, testing, and adjusting instruments and machinery to ensure proper operation
- Analyzing machine downtime and taking corrective actions to improve machine efficiency
- Maintaining engines, gear components, conveyors, packing equipment, and robotic machinery as directed
- Prepare technical drawing using CAD equipment or other software systems in the design or modification of mechanical applications
- Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
- Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
- Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
- Perform other tasks assigned by management
What You Have
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Successful completion of all required on the job training
- Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
- May be required to use department specific database systems such as: SAP, Microsoft Office, CAD
- Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction
- Associate Degree or its equivalency in electrical technology from accredited school preferred
- Five or more years recent experience in repairing, maintaining, and installing mechanical equipment, systems, or application
- Experience with Siemens products would be a plus; master, micro master drives and step 7 environments
- Welding certification and/or high-level welding skill is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in Mechanical systems
- In-depth knowledge of reading and understanding mechanical, Hydraulic- and pneumatic drawings/systems

- Read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blueprints, troubleshooting and repair manuals
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists
- Work with all maintenance personnel and outside contractors to keep equipment operational and to complete projects
- Use standard mechanical tools/measurement equipment
- Reading and understanding mechanical, Hydraulic- and pneumatic drawings/systems

- May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment
- Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
