Jackson’s Institutional Products department markets Guaranteed Investment Contracts (GICs), Funding Agreements, and Medium Term Notes (MTNs) to institutional investors, enabling the company to deploy capital opportunistically and diversify its business by leveraging core competencies in asset generation and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Jackson’s global institutional client base, dealers’ network, industry peers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee underwriting and pricing of traditional GIC bids, including negotiation, contract issuance, documentation, and administrative record-keeping.
  • Coordinate MTN transaction documentation with Legal, outside counsel, and Auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal insurance regulations for all contracts and legal filings.
  • Define and execute a Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) product strategy to meet growth and profitability targets.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in the institutional landscape and ensure ongoing compliance reporting.
  • Oversee financial projections, analysis, and reporting for the institutional business.
  • Stay informed on capital markets conditions and competitive dynamics in the institutional space.
  • Manage complex projects related to Institutional Products.
  • Complete critical monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and updates.
  • Approve underwriting, pricing, risk analysis, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance for GICs.
  • Review and certify quarterly results and controls in support of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with Financial Planning & Analysis on the annual planning process.
  • Collaborate with Actuarial on pricing, liability accounting, valuation, and new sales strain.
  • Work with Treasury and Portfolio & Product Management (PPM) on cash availability and investment strategies.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of broad insurance experience, including investment, asset-liability management, financial modeling, and risk analysis.
  • 10+ years of experience working with institutional products.
  • Experience with MTN programs and transactions strongly preferred.
  • Experience with risk underwriting, contract issuance, and compliance for institutional products and PRT preferred.

Skills

  • Broad knowledge and business acumen in the Institutional Products arena.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-driven, and team-oriented environment.
  • Insurance and business background covering a wide variety of functions.
  • Practical experience with MTN programs and PRT strategy implementation.
  • Knowledge of federal and state insurance regulations and requirements.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and manage complex issues.
  • Self-starter with a results-oriented focus on problem-solving and execution excellence.
  • Impeccable attention to detail to minimize risk and exposure.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to leverage resources and meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

  • FSA or CFA professional designations preferred.

Pay

Base salary range: $275,000 – $325,000, depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible for annual bonus, long-term incentives, compensated personal time off, holidays, health benefits, and 401(k) plan with generous matching, subject to company policies and plan terms.
