Sr. Manager, US Emerging Portfolio Strategy - Neurology
Boston-area onsite, 2–3 days per week in the office. Travel: 10% for global meetings (Paris), external conferences, and internal off-sites.
About the role
The Sr. Manager, US Emerging Portfolio Strategy (US EPS) Neurology reports to the Executive Director of US EPS and supports the Director, US EPS Neurology. The role ensures the business is positioned to deliver on its strategy and priorities for emerging neurology products and lifecycle management programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct US emerging portfolio assessments in neurology.
- Support US new product planning projects pre-commercialization (preclinical to Phase 3).
- Assist in the assessment of external in-line and pipeline opportunities for all phases to support business development.
- Contribute to forward-looking strategies, market positioning, and product profiles by synthesizing primary and secondary inputs to inform development and lifecycle plans.
- Collaborate with global teams to provide strategic US market insights (e.g., unmet needs, customer segmentation, target product profile input, market potential, competitive landscape, and risks).
- Support the market entry plan for potential new assets.
- Proactively incorporate key market developments (scientific and commercial) and competitive landscape changes into assessment updates.
- Contribute to the success of the Corporate Business Office (CBO) team by sharing best practices, supporting team offsites, events, and tracking annual goals and budgets.
- Coordinate with US EPS leadership to share learnings and improve team effectiveness and collaboration.

Requirements
- Undergraduate degree with a business, science, or quantitative focus and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Graduate degree (MBA, PhD, or similar) and 2+ years of work experience in strategy consulting, biopharma strategy, business development, new product planning, or related roles.
- Understanding of neurology or rare disease markets and stakeholder perspectives; ability to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of various disease states.
- Excellent social competencies and ability to work effectively in highly matrixed organizations, including leadership without authority.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering client presentations and communications; exceptional written and oral communication skills, especially in storytelling.
- Strong ability to establish a culture of excellence, accountability, teamwork, trust, and motivation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Experience in developing interpersonal relationships, influencing, and gaining consensus across multiple functions (high emotional intelligence).
- Professional and confident with the ability to work with all levels of the organization, especially senior leaders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with comfort preparing research and data analysis to support business recommendations.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $161,000–$184,000. An employee’s pay position within the range will be based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business needs. Employees are also eligible for short-term and long-term incentive programs.
