Sr Manager, Sports Sponsorships Comms
About the role
Build and lead the PR strategy—and team—supporting T-Mobile’s sports sponsorships and partnership portfolio. Develop campaigns that breakthrough in earned media, serve as the subject-matter expert, collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders, external partners, and agencies to execute programs. Translate business priorities into compelling stories that advance T-Mobile's differentiated narrative across a broad range of media.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office, located in Bellevue, WA.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with marketing and internal partners; advise executives and leadership
- Manage the team leading PR for T-Mobile’s sports sponsorships portfolio, including budget, agency resources, and employee development
- Develop tailored media plans, pitch unique story concepts, and create attention-getting moments and activations with leadership
- Secure coverage in broadcast, print, and online outlets
- Leverage data and insights to drive news and stories, creating programs that reach new audiences
- Partner with creators and talent to drive earned media
- Develop and manage reporter relationships; troubleshoot challenges
- Work closely with T-Mobile’s external sports sponsorships teams and their PR leads to collaborate on planning and ideation
- Support a variety of projects for the team in lock-step with agency resources
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned by business management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, PR, or related field and 7 years of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
- 10+ years’ experience in communications and media strategy at a PR/marketing agency or fast-paced corporate comms/PR team, including managing a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of what makes news and how to manufacture coverage without hard news
- Ability to partner across the company and with different teams
- Proven writing and editing skills
- Experience creating highly creative campaigns that breakthrough with mainstream media
- At least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Travel required

Pay
Base pay range: $115,100 – $207,600. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on work location, qualifications, and experience. Most corporate employees are also eligible for an annual bonus target of 20% of eligible earnings.
