Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic, high-impact projects and partnerships across marketing, retail, and operations teams.
  • Influence executive decision-making by providing thought leadership on the evolving role of Amazon Advertising in broader business and omnichannel strategies.
  • Create sophisticated omni-channel advertising strategies tailored to large complex, high-growth businesses.
  • Leverage deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, consumer behavior, and brand objectives to architect customized, multi-layered media plans that go beyond tactical execution.
  • Drive high-level advertising and growth strategies for a portfolio of brands/businesses on Amazon and channel retailers that align with overall business / client objectives, leveraging market trends, competitive insights, and internal data to shape long-term planning and decision-making.
  • Understand the full suite of Amazon and retail media ad products and the ability to develop and measure a full-funnel, multi-channel, multi-goal marketing plan to drive traffic, increase sales, and improve ROI.
  • Oversee the creation, execution, and optimization of Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Brand Video and Sponsored Display campaigns.
  • Monitor performance and manage budgets to maximize efficiency and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Manage and mentor a team of advertising managers or specialists, fostering their growth in both tactical execution and strategic thinking. Provide guidance on developing client-specific strategies, navigating complexity, and elevating campaign planning to drive greater business impact.
  • Responsible for translating leadership goals within their pod orgs, direct reports and clients.
  • Foster a culture of performance, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal or external clients, presenting advertising strategy, performance insights and recommendations, and growth opportunities.
  • Actively contribute and thought lead in ideating and driving initiatives that have an impact on the overall sponsored ads team and on sponsored ads at GO in totality.
  • Work closely with sales, retail, content, and data teams to ensure cohesive strategies.
  • Analyze data trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and share regular performance reports with stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve campaign management processes, drive adoption and innovation in automation and reporting tools, and evaluate new advertising solutions.
  • Able to manage through ambiguity and problem solve.
  • Knowledgeable in Amazon’s retail ecosystem and advertising products (SP, SB, SD).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience with Amazon or other retail media channels.
  • Proven experience managing significant advertising budgets and optimizing for performance.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon’s retail ecosystem and advertising products (SP, SB, SD).
  • Leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • An analytical mindset with expertise in Excel and advertising/reporting platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience with Amazon or other retail media channels.
  • Proven people leader with 4+ years of experience, including building and managing teams of managers.
  • Preferred experience: Amazon DSP experience, Familiarity with A/B testing and incrementality measurement, Background in retail media or working within an agency supporting Amazon brands.
