This role operates at the intersection of data, systems, and people. Your work will directly influence sales behavior, employee engagement, and retention, requiring a balance of financial acumen, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills that benefit both the business and its sales workforce.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage sales compensation plans and processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives and sales strategies.
- Analyze market trends, internal data, and industry benchmarks to ensure fair and motivating plans; regularly update them to reflect organizational changes or market shifts.
- Track and evaluate sales performance against established metrics using dashboards and analytics tools to assess plan effectiveness, including identifying trends, resolving discrepancies, and recommending adjustments to optimize results.
- Forecast and manage sales compensation budgets, balancing incentives with financial sustainability; track and calculate financial incentive payouts, including delivery of statements, simulate payout models, and ensure cost-effective plan execution.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, HR, and IT teams to implement plans, capture data, and communicate policies; provide training and guidance to sales teams to ensure understanding and motivation.
- Ensure sales compensation plans comply with legal and regulatory standards; stay updated on relevant laws and adjust plans to maintain compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Certifications in Finance or Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP) is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in sales operations, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing sales compensation.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with Sales Performance Management tools, Excel, and CRM systems.
