Sr. Manager, Pricing
Position Summary
Ogletree Deakins has the opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager of Pricing to join the firm's Corporate Accounting & Finance Department. The Senior Manager of Pricing position will report to the Director of Pricing to support the deployment of various strategic pricing and legal project management initiatives across the Firm. Ideal candidates should be highly motivated with prior pricing and project management experience in the legal industry. Experience with business intelligence reporting applications and other financial and budgeting tools within a fast-paced work environment is also desired.
About the Role
The Senior Manager of Pricing will review client requests for proposals (RFPs) and make appropriate pricing recommendations. They will maintain a central repository of alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), analyze pricing proposals for internal review and approval, model the impact of pricing scenarios for specific engagements, execute monthly reports, and provide analytic insights on pricing performance as compared to prior periods. They will develop expertise with data warehouse as it relates to inquiry and report writing capabilities, provide ad hoc reporting and analysis in response to internal requests for information, including in support of RFPs, general attorney inquiries, and various management reporting initiatives, and provide pricing, budgeting, and profitability counsel to attorneys and client services team. They will also manage a team of Pricing & Legal Project Management analysts.
Responsibilities
- Review client requests for proposals (RFPs) and make appropriate pricing recommendations.
- Maintain a central repository of alternative fee arrangements (AFAs).
- Analyze pricing proposals for internal review and approval.
- Model the impact of pricing scenarios for specific engagements.
- Execute monthly reports and provide analytic insights on pricing performance as compared to prior periods.
- Develop expertise with data warehouse as it relates to inquiry and report writing capabilities.
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis in response to internal requests for information including in support of RFPs, general attorney inquiries, and various management reporting initiatives.
- Provide pricing, budgeting, and profitability counsel to attorneys and client services team.
- Manage a team of Pricing & Legal Project Management analysts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 7+ years of pricing experience within the legal industry.
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including to but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Document Management System.
- Strong financial modeling skills, detail-oriented, and demonstrated initiative to take on new challenges.
- Capable of working on multiple projects within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Able to effectively communicate pricing results with analytic recommendations to a non-pricing audience.
- Willingness to learn and innovate new solutions to improve organizational performance.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data warehouse reporting applications.

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $133,214.16 and $199,821.24. In accordance with New York State’s Wage Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this New York State position is between $122,237.64 and $221,855.70. In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $125,126.44 and $221,855.70. In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $140,196.04 and $210,294.06. In accordance with the Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act, the expected salary range for this DC position is between $140,196.04 and $210,294.06. In accordance with Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work-Wage Range Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Baltimore position is between $125,126.44 and $187,689.66. In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $140,196.04 and $210,294.06. In accordance with Massachusetts Frances Perkins Workplace Equity Act, the expected salary range for this Massachusetts position is between $147,903.8 and $221855.70. In accordance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, the expected salary range for this Minnesota position is between $125,126.44 and $187,689.66. In accordance with New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, the expected salary range for this New Jersey position is between $147,903.8 and $221,855.7. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in Cleveland, OH is $122,237.64 and $183,356.46 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
