About the role
Reporting to the Global Payroll Lead, the Senior Payroll Operations Lead will lead the delivery of payroll operations in the region using an outsourced payroll model with ADP. This role is responsible for leading and overseeing NORAM Payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant pay for employees in the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all payroll operations of semi-monthly and off-cycle payroll processing across multiple states for US payroll as well as Canada Payroll.
- Manage the relationship with the outsourced provider ensuring SLAs are met.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and tax regulations as well as SOX controls, internal frameworks, and governance.
- Work with Global Lead to maintain strong payroll governance, controls, and audit-ready processes.
- Partner with internal teams on compensation changes, benefits deductions, equity payouts.
- Collaborate with Finance on payroll and tax reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement mindset to optimize vendor performance, streamline process, and enhance scalability and employee experience.
- Provides problem-solving, project management, and overall payroll planning and consultation for designated groups within the company.
- Understand the risk associated with the process and the respective mitigation plan for each risk identified; Foresees risks in advance using prior payroll experience to mitigate risk before failure.
- Lead, develop, and mentor payroll team members fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Identify improvements to payroll systems and assist in implementation.
- Provide backup for payroll processing when required.
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
- 5+ years experience with outsourced managed payroll, specifically ADP, in a shared services or operational environment.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience using SFEC HCM.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team with a focus on team engagement and development.
- Solid functional knowledge, commensurate with level, including understanding of payroll processes and regulations aligned to SOX compliance.
- A proven, customer-driven attitude towards employees of all levels.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Strong organization skills with ability to deal with multiple concurrent high-priority projects while meeting deadlines, being a team player and seeking continuous improvement.
- Highly collaborative team approach to work with a proactive orientation.

Pay
Salary $130K - $170K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
