Sr Manager IT QA

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end quality engineering and test service delivery across a product line.
• Establish vision, strategy, and governance for testing to ensure successful product outcomes.
• Oversee all testing operations and direct test planning and execution.
• Perform impact analysis and estimation for testing activities.
• Manage internal and external testing resources, including vendor relationships.
• Advance automation and continuous testing capabilities.
• Ensure effective test environments and test data management.
• Serve as primary vendor relationship manager and partner with business and technology leaders to balance quality, delivery speed, and business value.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for testing outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.
• Manage vendor partnerships to ensure high‑quality, efficient, and scalable delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Technology experience, or 9 years of IT experience.
• 7+ years leading quality engineering and testing efforts for complex enterprise applications and product delivery teams.
• Proven experience developing and executing product‑line test strategies across multiple applications, releases, and integrated platforms.
• Experience managing and mentoring QA/Test Engineers in Agile product team environments.
• Experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Structured Query Language (SQL), and System Development Methodology (SDM).
• Experience in technologies testing, application and infrastructure integration, and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Experience in Iterative/Agile/Scrum development.
• Experience in test automation and usability testing.
• Experience with demand types/delivery methods (Agile, Scrum, Iterative Development).
• Impact analysis and estimation experience.
• Testing vendor relationship management and governance.
• Test data management, test environment design and management.
• Understanding of business strategic needs and IT capabilities.
• Customer relationship management.
• Ability to develop a strong vision, lead, influence, and mobilize teams.
• Ability to prioritize and make trade‑off decisions.
• Negotiation, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with test management tools such as HP ALM, Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent.
• Proven experience implementing and scaling test automation frameworks and continuous testing practices.
• Experience with test data management, test environment strategy, and release readiness planning.
• Experience performing impact assessments, risk evaluations, test estimations, and release planning activities.
• Experience managing external testing vendors, including governance, performance management, and delivery oversight.
• Strong understanding of quality engineering practices, shift‑left testing, and test optimization methodologies.
• Experience supporting business‑critical product lines and translating business objectives into effective testing strategies.
• Ability to drive defect management, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Architects, Developers, and Operations teams.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to balance quality, speed, risk, and business value.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with API testing tools (Postman, ReadyAPI, SoapUI, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, Agile Testing certifications, or ISEB System Testing Foundation Certification.
• Experience in insurance, claims, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.

Compensation

Salary range: $102,000.00 – $184,300.00. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
