About the role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Government Relations professional to lead our engagement across North and South America, with a primary focus on the United States and secondary support for Canada, Mexico, and select Latin American markets. This role is pivotal in shaping and advancing legislative and regulatory outcomes that align with our business objectives and values across diverse policy environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive government relations strategies to advance our priorities across the United States, with support for broader Americas engagement as needed.
- Build, maintain, and deepen relationships with federal and state policymakers, regulators, and key staff to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes.
- Directly advocate on priority issues, representing the company in meetings, conferences, briefings, and other policy forums.
- Manage external lobbying firms, consultants, and advisors and the associated budgets to extend our reach and effectiveness.
- Monitor, analyze, and shape legislative and regulatory developments relevant to our business, translating them into clear strategic guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Global Government Relations leads, Legal, Trust & Safety, Product, Brand Teams, and Corporate Communications to ensure alignment between policy positions, business priorities, and external messaging.
- Help develop and refine clear, actionable policy positions and advocacy materials on complex issues.
- Support senior executive advocacy efforts and third-party memberships in Washington, DC.
- Represent the company in industry associations, coalitions, and public forums to strengthen our credibility and influence as a responsible industry leader.
- Support the development of policy materials, including position papers, testimony, and consultation responses, to advance our advocacy efforts.
Requirements
- A degree in law, public policy, political science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or public policy, with a focus on consumer technology or digital platforms.
- A strong understanding of U.S. legislative and regulatory processes at both the federal and state levels.
- Experience working on issues such as online safety, privacy, competition, or emerging technologies.
- An established network within Congress, federal agencies, state governments, and relevant industry groups.
- An excellent communicator with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively.
- Speeches conversational Spanish (a plus).
