Sr. Manager, Global Primary Freight

About the Role

This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry-leading products. The Sr. Manager, Logistics & Freight Management, oversees transportation, shipments, and freight forwarding, ensuring customs compliance within the supply chain. You will lead third-party vendor management, support distribution strategy development, and supervise teams to drive performance and success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation of goods, shipments, and freight forwarding, ensuring customs compliance
• Manage third-party vendors to ensure quality and service
• Support the development of distribution strategies to optimize business performance
• Supervise multiple teams, implementing departmental plans and ensuring team success
• Lead performance management, drive talent development, and make decisions affecting team operations and performance
• Ensure positive employee relations and enhance employee engagement and recognition
• Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining documentation, and ensuring quality control
• Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
