Sr. Manager, AI Cloud Engineering

The Senior Manager of AI Cloud Engineering will report to the Director of Advanced Analytics and lead strategic initiatives to enhance enterprise analytics capabilities through automation, AI-driven solutions, and advanced data platforms. This role ensures scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that support organizational goals.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day oversight of a team of Automation and Tools managers and Engineers.
- Collaborate with other Automation and Tools Managers to build organization-wide automation strategies.
- Work with Sr. Managers in IT and Business on common goals.
- Partner with IT and Business leaders to define future tools needs based on organizational initiatives.
- Create and coordinate training for the IT organization on tools, including Azure Cognitive Services and Databricks.
- Lead the design and implementation of automation strategies leveraging Azure Cognitive Services for AI-powered workflows and Databricks.
- Integrate cognitive APIs and predictive modeling platforms into organizational initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert on scripting using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the team.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including 4 years of management experience.
- Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in technical or functional expertise, business acumen, financial analysis, risk management, delegation, critical thinking, and decision-making.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud architecture, automation frameworks, and integration of cognitive APIs.
- Strong programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD concepts (Terraform).
- Significant experience managing and optimizing Databricks environments for data engineering, analytics, and machine learning workloads.
- Knowledge and experience with network principles, architecture, and security concepts.

Schedule
This role follows a hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. Most teams come into the office two days each week. Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need. The company reserves the right to adjust in-office requirements based on business needs.
Pay
- California: $148,940.00 to $223,300.00
- Bay Area: $167,896.00 to $251,720.00
Note: This range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Salaries are based on candidate experience, location (California, Bay Area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
