Sr. Manager, AI Engineering

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Manager, AI Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space. This role will shape the company’s enterprise AI capabilities, with a strong focus on governed access to foundation models, cost controls, and reusable patterns that can scale across applications. The leader will guide the delivery of production AI solutions from proof of concept through deployment, while helping establish standards for quality, monitoring, and continuous improvement. This is a highly cross-functional position that will partner with technical teams and business stakeholders to advance the organization’s AI engineering roadmap and operational readiness. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $137,500 – $185,600 annually Responsibilities Own the enterprise AI platform with governed access to foundation models and cost controls Define reusable AI patterns for various applications and architectures Lead the evaluation framework for production AI systems, including quality monitoring and regression testing Deliver AI applications from proof of concept through production deployment Manage operational quality metrics for production AI systems Track and evaluate new capabilities in the AI tooling landscape Establish the AI engineering roadmap and manage staffing plans Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred 8–12 years of software, data, or machine learning engineering experience 3–5+ years leading engineering teams in cloud-native environments 3+ years delivering production AI or machine learning systems with a focus on generative AI or LLM applications Hands-on experience with retrieval augmented generation and AI engineering practices Experience with platforms like AWS Bedrock or Azure OpenAI Strong leadership skills focused on coaching and developing talent Benefits Competitive pay and bonuses to reward and recognize success Financial planning resources to assist with income protection and investments Time away from work to recharge and be with family Generous extras and perks, including community programs and discounts Growth and development opportunities for personal and professional advancement Comprehensive health and wellness programs Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
