About the role
Directs Programs and Projects related to product introductions. Assists customers with ordering information and configurations; evaluates customer needs and helps determine the proper match with the Company’s service offerings. Participates in pricing and lead time evaluations and quotations based on manufacturing cost estimates and other business factors; follows up on outstanding quotations and customer requirements.
Works with engineering personnel to manage new product development projects.
Responsibilities
- Directs essential elements and support resources to ensure contract review processes are performed timely and coordinates with others to ensure requirements are met and effectively communicated.
- Drives strong business growth through establishing and maintaining value-added relationships with key customers to assure complete satisfaction.
- Generates new business consistent with the Company’s market focus and core competencies.
- Directs staff with responsibility for customer order acknowledgement and clarifications/corrections as necessary; ensures customers are apprised of job status and any issues impacting contract terms; verifies customer satisfaction and resolves any concerns.
- Acts as liaison with other departments in the organization to ensure customer satisfaction and coordinates activities with other functions (e.g., purchasing, production, quality, engineering, and shipping).
- Reviews any questions or concerns with Senior Management.
- Submits reports to Executive Staff; provides weekly activity/call reports, lost sale reports, and monthly sales forecasts for assigned customer accounts.
- Provides updates to Executive Staff on AMS Sales plans, objectives, etc.
- Generates and follows up on sales leads and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Follows up on leads generated by marketing activities; telephones or visits potential customers to discuss needs and provide product demonstrations. Develops referrals and makes contacts with other potential candidates in assigned territory.
- Coordinates, attends, and works trade shows for the company as assigned.
- Ensures timely submission of quotes and other pertinent information requested by customers during the bidding stage of the sales process.
- Interacts with customer engineering and technical teams to collaborate on design and manufacturability projects.
- Responsible for assuring that assigned activities are performed in accordance with the Company’s Quality System procedures.
- Provides leadership, motivation, accountability, and direction to Sales staff.
- Participates in formal design reviews for new and existing products/customer requirements.
- Communicates customer needs for cost reductions or product revisions to help engineering and operations respond appropriately with continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives in manufacturing.
- Works within Seabrook Quality Management Systems requirements to ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable regulatory requirements (FDA QSRs, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, etc).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in an engineering discipline.
- 5 - 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Physical Demands
- Majority of time sitting at a workstation.
- Lifting/carrying maximum of 10 lbs.
