Responsibilities

Working a flexible schedule, twenty hours per week, specific duties will include:

• making rounds of the interior and exterior of County buildings providing general security and guarding against theft and destruction of property;
• questioning persons in unauthorized areas and escorting them from the area or building if necessary;
• reporting unusual behavior or problems to the proper authorities as appropriate;
• assisting the public by providing information regarding facilities and services;
• administering emergency first aid to ill or injured persons and calling for emergency medical assistance if needed (training will be provided);
• writing and issuing tickets for parking ordinance violations and discussing the nature of the violation(s) with motorists as necessary;
• escorting public officials to banks and taking deposits to banks alone;
• picking-up and delivering mail to branch County offices;
• performing related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in building security or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to work effectively with other employees, agencies and the public.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is preferred.
