About the role

This role serves as the technology and AI strategist for an assigned legal practice area, partnering with practice leadership to define how technology can transform practice operations while maintaining hands-on delivery ownership and accountability for practice area technology outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complex applications and technical solutions using low-code, no-code, and AI tools to deliver strategic outcomes for the assigned practice area.
  • Proactively identify opportunities where emerging technology can transform practice operations and present these to practice leadership.
  • Own adoption outcomes by tracking utilization and surfacing barriers to leadership.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Legal professionals' workflows, friction points, and strategic outcomes to create a requirements framework addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
  • Maintain trusted relationships with practice leads to ensure their priorities are reflected in the Legal Ops technology roadmap.
  • Partner with IT, Legal Ops, and external vendors to support practice area technology needs, proactively engaging Legal professionals to uncover unarticulated opportunities.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between Legal Ops infrastructure and the day-to-day realities of the practice.
  • Own the full technology roadmap for the assigned practice area, including defining priorities, sequencing initiatives, managing timelines, and coordinating resources.
  • Align practice area investment decisions with the broader Legal Ops technology strategy.
  • Deliver technical solutions on time with clear scope, measurable outcomes, and appropriate stakeholder visibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related work experience OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required).
  • 4-7 years of consulting and legal operations experience (Preferred).
  • 4-7 years of hands-on experience with low-code/no-code development platforms and workflow automation tools (Required).
  • Ability to design and iterate on solutions without heavy reliance on engineering resources.
  • 4-7 years of Technical Program Management experience (Preferred).
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs from initiation through delivery, with a track record of translating ambiguous business needs into structured, executable plans.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Travel is required for this role.

Skills

  • Required:
    • AI Tools and Strategy: Hands-on experience using AI assistants and LLM-based tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate analysis, drafting, and workflow design.
    • Low-Code/No-Code Development: Proficiency with platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), or comparable tools.
    • Technology Roadmap Development, Requirements Gathering, Stakeholder Management, Program Management, Change Management, Workflow Automation, and Solution Design.
  • Preferred:
    • Legal Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate legal team operations, practice area structures (e.g., litigation, contracts, employment, IP), and legal-specific tooling (matter management, contract lifecycle management, e-billing).
    • Python or scripting experience for lightweight data manipulation or automation tasks beyond no-code tools.
    • Experience with legal technology platforms, including matter management, contract lifecycle management (CLM), and document management systems (DMS).

Pay

The Total Target Cash Earnings Opportunity for this role is $135,700 - $244,720, combining base salary and annual incentive opportunity. The base pay range is $118,000 - $212,800. Employees are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive based on their role. Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on individual and/or company performance, set as a percentage of eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain Customer Care positions are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
