Sr Key Account Manager
About the role
Join our team at Swedish Match North America LLC, a leading producer of smokeless tobacco products aiming to provide adult consumers with alternatives that are enjoyable but have a lower risk than smoking. As a Key Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive business plans, enhancing customer relationships, and driving growth in your assigned regions.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for Region Accounts to grow operating profits and revenues.
- Reinforce the performance appraisal process through coaching to increase growth and development of the sales organization.
- Provide a development plan for each Account Rep to ensure they have the necessary knowledge, skills, and characteristics for advancement.
- Evaluate Account Reps and recommend for reward and recognition.
- Participate in the evaluation and hiring process for Account Managers.
- Develop a strategic business plan focusing on distribution, merchandising execution, brand displacement, and category management.
- Utilize syndicated data to identify space dimension opportunities and assist in setting region goals and objectives.
- Manage and allocate local trade and promotional spending budgets to align with region guidelines.
- Assess and evaluate business results of assigned customers and recommend strategic change strategies if necessary.
- Understand and translate national and regional policies, procedures, operating strategies, and plans to account associates.
- Create a cooperative environment where individual thinking and growth opportunities are encouraged.
- Develop value-added customer and consumer strategies to maximize the sales mission of increasing operating earnings and revenue.
- Develop preferred relationships with customer's key decision-makers at all levels within the customer organization.
- Review customer account assessments and recommend improved strategies where needed.
- Understand customer and consumer needs and provide value-added products.
- Create leadership within the OTP category.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience in key account responsibility preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in consumer goods area.
- Proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Good presentation development and delivery skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with various class of trade accounts.
- Licenses and certifications required for the role.
