Sr IS Systems Engineer - Network Infrastructure

About the Role

This position ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The role involves identifying, communicating, and resolving issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems, participating in technical research and development to drive innovation, and ensuring system hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures align with organizational values. The job oversees architecture and engineering management processes within infrastructure and operations, provides Level III support for infrastructure administration and technical support, and assists project teams with technical issues during initiation and planning phases.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure and maintains proper levels of system and data availability.
• Provides installation and support of the technology infrastructure.
• Installs and maintains technology-related devices.
• Coordinates multiple projects, including personnel and resource coordination, documentation, and management reporting.
• Provides Level III Network Server and Infrastructure Support and coordinates activities with PC Support staff.
• Develops and promotes the use of standards, policies, and procedures governing technology systems.
• Participates in training, professional development, and quality improvement activities.
• Performs other related duties as required.
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory requirements applicable to the assigned area and ensures compliance.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience Required: 10 years of information technology experience, OR 8 years with an associate’s degree, OR 6 years with a bachelor’s degree, OR 4 years with a master’s degree.

• Ability to move throughout hospital and off-campus sites, travel out of town occasionally, and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
• Preferred experience with advanced routing technologies, firewall management, advanced wireless networking solutions, network load balancers, and cloud network connectivity/services.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissue, and incumbents are not required to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
• No occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases, though there may be risk for exposure to hazardous medications or waste within a healthcare setting.
