Sr. System Engineer - Network

About the role

As a Sr. System Engineer, you’ll be the go-to person to roll out and maintain business-critical applications and services for Supermicro. You are responsible for resolving escalated service issues, coaching other engineers to resolutions, engineering and implementing complex projects. This role requires independence, leadership to drive technical development, and excellent communication skills.

This position requires regular in-office attendance during standard working hours. Up to 25% travel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Work with Solution Architects to design, deploy, and troubleshoot networks
• Travel onsite with the deployment team to configure switches and troubleshoot link issues
• Help set up and maintain the network test environment
• Maintain inventory of switches, transceivers, and high-speed cables
• Work with Product Managers to qualify or re-qualify products such as switches, transceivers, and high-speed cables, and write qualification reports based on test results
• Participate in customer meetings to capture network requirements
• Submit paperwork under the guidance of Product Managers to enable new products in the SAP system
• Help answer customer technical inquiries via email
• Write technical white papers related to prototypes as well as final resulting products
• Co-work with external solution VARs (SW, HW, Switch, Integration, service, etc.) for customer RFQ/RFP and project management with external and internal teams
• Ensure customer overall satisfaction and collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve clients' issues or concerns in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or equivalent experience; MBA is highly preferable
• 8+ years of work-related experience in Deep Learning and Machine Learning
• Strong knowledge of computer server hardware, networking, cluster application software, cluster platforms, and benchmarks
• Excellent relationship management, negotiation, and marketing skills
• Strong executive presence with a track record of winning mid to large clients/business

• Solid communication skills in both verbal and written forms

Pay

Salary Range: $137,000 - $156,000. The salary offered will depend on factors including location, level, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience. Candidates may also be eligible for participation in bonus and equity award programs.
