Sr. IP Docketing Specialist

About the role

Procopio is seeking a Senior IP Docketing Specialist to support attorneys, clients, and IP professionals in maintaining accurate docket records, managing critical deadlines, and ensuring the integrity of the Firm’s intellectual property portfolio management processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and docket U.S., international, and foreign patent and trademark correspondence
• Open and close matters and deadlines within the docketing system
• Maintain accurate docket records and detailed database notes
• Cook up and transfer client and matter transfers
• Aid in patent renewals, maintenance fees, and annuity processes
• Support attorneys and staff by providing docketing guidance, generating reports and queries, monitoring workflow, and ensuring compliance with jurisdiction-specific requirements

Requirements

• Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and organized
• Comfortable managing a high-volume workload while maintaining exceptional accuracy
• Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset
• Experienced in U.S. and international patent and trademark prosecution procedures, docketing best practices, and intellectual property portfolio management

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of intellectual property prosecution and docketing experience
• Demonstrated experience training and mentoring others

Skills

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with intellectual property docketing systems, especially FoundationIP

Pay

Typical pay range is from $100,000 – $115,000+ depending on experience.
