Key Responsibilities
- Support GAAP and statutory investment accounting and reporting activities
- Perform accounting and analysis for debt securities, equity securities, derivatives, and related investment income
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual investment reporting schedules
- Analyze fair value, book value, unrealized gains/losses, and impairment activity
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
- Reconcile investment activity across custodians, asset managers, and accounting systems
- Review pricing and ratings data for accuracy and reasonableness
- Assist with statutory reporting requirements including AVR and IMR calculations
- Support internal and external audit requests, controls testing, and documentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-4+ years of accounting experience
- Public accounting, insurance accounting, investment accounting, fund accounting, or financial services experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills and analytical capabilities
