Sr. Human Resources Generalist- Manufacturing Plant
About the role
We are searching for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to be based at our Electrical Cable & Flexible Conduit facility in Byesville, OH. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will lead and execute talent acquisition, employee relations, and various human resources projects and processes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the local client group to shape and implement the overall business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Function as a strategic business partner to all employee groups in creating and leading HR solutions.
- Provide HR support in new initiative rollouts, including innovative ideas, communication, change management, and thought partnership.
- Provide coaching to managers and supervisors regarding employee relations, difficult conversations, and process improvements.
- Perform advanced employee relations functions, including support and counseling related to conflicts, dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, and review and assessment of suspension and termination requests while balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs.
- Manage the talent acquisition and retention process to achieve hiring and retention goals.
- Conduct workplace investigations and report findings as needed.
- Report on HR metrics and prepare presentations as required.
- Drive engagement and alignment (cultural) initiatives for the facility.
- Maintain affirmative action program; prepare EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Promote positive employee relations throughout the workplace.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements, ensuring organizational compliance.
- Assist in developing new policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant human resources experience.
- Flexibility to come in early or occasionally work off-shift hours to support off-shift as needed.
- Experience recruiting hourly and salaried employees preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Experience working in lean manufacturing, business system-based company environment preferred.
- Experience with UKG is a plus.
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
- Responsive nature with a strong sense of urgency to manage matters quickly.
- Knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, DOL, and other related federal & state laws.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to effectively problem solve; ability to understand and analyze data to make decisions.

Onboarding Milestones
- Within 3 months:
- Complete Atkore onboarding and immersion program, focusing on understanding Atkore’s culture, the Atkore Business System, and building relationships across client groups and the Atkore HR community.
- Understand how your role impacts Atkore and how your objectives align with Atkore’s strategic priorities.
- Gain a general understanding of the Sr. HR Generalist role and begin delivering value to your client groups.
- Within 6 months:
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for openings in the groups you support, through a new hire’s onboarding and immersion experience.
- Establish strong working relationships with the leadership team and build rapport with employees across your client group.
- Become a valued peer across the Atkore HR community.
- Be familiar with all daily responsibilities of a Sr. HR Generalist and perform with minimal oversight.
- Within 12 months:
- Establish a reputation as a reliable and indispensable member of the HR community and top talent for Atkore.
- Be relied on by your client groups as a valued thought partner for all people-related issues.
- Be sought-after across the broader HR team for your talent, work product, enthusiasm, and reliability.
Pay
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $75,040 - $103,180. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
