This role sits within the Timehub, Pay and Innovation Risk & Compliance team, which manages global programs that inventory, assess, and monitor critical working-time and employment-related risks across Amazon’s operations.

About the role

The Sr. HR Risk & Compliance Manager will collaborate with HR policy, process, and system owners to manage complex time-and-attendance requirements, controls, and risk issues. Responsibilities include researching legal and regulatory obligations with local labor and employment attorneys, translating those obligations into system or process requirements, monitoring control effectiveness, and leading remediation plans. Projects may stem from new legal requirements, geographic expansion, business-model changes, solution implementations, or emerging risks.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employment legal and HR policy, process, and system owners to establish sound protocols that mitigate pay, time, and attendance risks.
  • Monitor known and emerging risks, measure internal control effectiveness, and develop and own action items to remediate identified issues.
  • Develop deep expertise in Amazon’s pay and time-and-attendance solutions; consult on business requirements for new system implementations and enhancements.
  • Draft written narratives to communicate obligations, risk analyses, and recommendations to HR policy, process, and system owners and senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct on-site and risk-control assessments; draft reports detailing methodology, results, and remediation plans.
  • Consult on supporting documentation such as manager and employee communications, FAQs, and standard operating processes.
  • Respond to questions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage other HR risk and compliance projects as needs arise.
  • Travel up to 10% as necessary.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles/Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent.

Pay

Base salary ranges:

  • Dallas, TX: $121,200 – $163,900 USD annually
  • Arlington, VA: $121,200 – $163,900 USD annually
  • Bellevue, WA: $121,200 – $163,900 USD annually
