Sr GL Accountant

This role serves as a critical accounting liaison between the Company and its parent organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with corporate requirements. The position operates with a high degree of independence and provides functional oversight of accounting processes without direct supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Oversee the monthly close process to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal accounting policies
- Review trial balances and validate mapping from ERP accounts to parent company reporting structure (SAP)
- Consolidation & Intercompany Accounting
- Perform intercompany accounting, including eliminations and reconciliations
- Prepare and submit consolidation reporting packages to parent company
- Maintain and update consolidation workbooks and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with parent company accounting team to resolve reporting issues and discrepancies
- Cash & Subsidiary Support
- Review international payroll summaries and process payroll payments via banking platforms
- Review & approve direct payments (e.g., wire transfers) for subsidiary operations
- Ensure proper documentation and controls around cash disbursements
- Cross-Functional Support
- Cross-train with cost accounting and financial analysis functions to provide operational resilience
- Support ad hoc financial analysis as needed
- Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Support audit requests and maintain strong documentation practices

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
- 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting in a multi-entity environment
- Strong understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidations
- Experience working with ERP systems; Global Shop Solutions, Workday Adaptive, SAP
- Familiarity with SOX/internal controls frameworks
