GL Accountant Sr

What You’ll Do

• Provide full cycle accounting for a portfolio of class A office properties in the DC Metro Region
• Create month-end accounting journal entries
• Work with property staff, lease administration, and other internal teams to ensure property financials are accurate & complete
• Review all general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and SOX workpapers
• Draft variance report comments which explain a property’s performance against budget and prior periods
• Calculate tenant recovery billings for CAM and Tax
• Review new leases at property to ensure accurate revenue recognition and recovery set-up
• Provide support for audit and tax compliance teams
• Provide support for ad hoc ownership requests
• Provide support to property management team
• Be able to explain complex information to others without a financial background
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with RISE values
• Work within the client standard procedures to achieve

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience
• In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered
• Experience with Yardi preferred
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
• Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)
