About the Role

Cinterra has provided specialized electrical utility and solar construction services for over twenty years, supporting leading contractors, private industry, and public utilities. The Sr General Foreman works closely with the Site Manager, providing site leadership and managing day-to-day operations on a utility-scale solar project. This role ensures efficient management of company and subcontract crews, facilitates project planning, and guarantees the delivery of a safe, quality, and timely product. The position involves frequent customer engagement, construction document analysis, trade coordination, and meeting attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate safety as a core value throughout the company, supporting the corporate safety program and personnel.
  • Assist the Site Manager with developing project budgets and estimating production rates.
  • Perform accurate take-offs and production reporting.
  • Assist the Site Manager with achieving customer approval of required documents.
  • Manage and maintain all excavating equipment.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of Foremen and field crews.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and repair of underground MV and DC electrical wire.
  • Receive, store, and protect project material and equipment, including owner-furnished items; document and report any shortages and damage immediately.
  • Oversee the preparation of staff performance reviews.
  • Initiate and administer disciplinary action as required.
  • Manage the successful completion of all utility-scale photovoltaic installations from start to finish.
  • Direct, coordinate, and manage electrical and underground crew activities.
  • Ensure crew efficiency and success in maintaining schedule, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report daily progress with the Site Manager to appropriate individuals.
  • Assist the Site Manager with weekly forecasting and look-ahead.
  • Attend customer-required meetings and address any questions that arise.
  • Consult with the project manager to resolve problems due to inclement weather, emergencies, or other issues causing delays.
  • Ensure all project records are accurate and adequately maintained.
  • Provide support and assistance to other Cinterra divisions as needed.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor and ensure all project personnel act professionally.
  • Handle special assignments and other duties as requested by leadership.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.
  • Three or more years of construction management and/or electrical experience preferred.
  • NFPA 70E Certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations required; OSHA training and certifications preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work long and/or extended hours, including weekends, and travel frequently.
  • Familiarity with local codes, AHJ standards, and NEC code.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative work style and commitment to getting the job done.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
  • Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
