About the role

We are seeking a Senior Footwear Product Developer to join our Footwear Product Team. This role involves creating innovative footwear designs that meet athlete needs and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product and process excellence within a team environment for assigned projects
  • Convert project briefs and 2D design renderings into 3D samples that meet consumer and business needs
  • Enhance product excellence by utilizing knowledge and experience across all phases of the product process
  • Ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, and sustainability targets
  • Ensure projects are ready for commercialization and manufacturing
  • Collaborate with key functional partners including Footwear Engineering, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and overseas partners
  • Navigate the Nike matrix to align processes with standard methodologies for product excellence
  • Communicate effectively with overseas partners to ensure clear and accurate project progress

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Engineering, or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, or training with footwear experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience in footwear development
  • Demonstrated understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Effective collaboration skills, able to build trust and work productively with internal and external partners
  • Experience in project management, problem-solving, and applying solutions
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter attitude, willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to tinker, create prototypes, explore, learn, and improve products through physical alterations
  • Basic knowledge of materials, test methods, and properties and application

Qualifications

  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
  • Proven ability to identify and suggest cost-effective solutions in footwear
