About the Role
This position is a Master-level Technician who provides a high skill level for accurate vehicle maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles with a focus on exceptional customer satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. A Technician may work independently or in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.
- Perform light and major repairs.
- Perform advanced vehicle diagnostics.
- Direct interaction with customers, displaying exceptional interpersonal skills while driving service center’s performance with the highest integrity and trust.
- Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components, etc.
- Maintain/repair equipment (e.g., cable trailers, laptop docking stations).
- Keep shop area clean and tidy.
- Perform work in accordance with safety standards and dispose of fluids safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records.
- Up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, design, and fabrication.
- Interface and coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs.
- Perform roadside assistance as needed.
- Provide custom equipment through equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks, including welding.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and on-board computer systems.
- Conduct diagnoses and repairs, including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, maintenance services, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field.
- Alternative combinations: any level degree/certification beyond HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years’ experience; or 7 years’ experience in a related field.
- Master Level ASE certification preferred; must continue training to maintain A.S.E. status.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment, enter/exit vehicles frequently, and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, climbing).
- Vision abilities: close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Detail-oriented with ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Transmission and diesel experience preferred.
- Extensive training and certification with 5-10 years of hands-on diesel repair experience.
- Working knowledge of DOT and CDL requirements for medium and heavy truck applications.
- Ability to obtain Class A or B Operator’s License if required.
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining until expiration (or DOT physical if less than four months remaining).

- Proficiency in working on multiple applications: Light-Duty to Class A-Heavy Trucks, Mechanical Equipment, Machinery, Passenger Vehicles, etc.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
