About the role
ASSA ABLOY has added a Maintenance Technician position at our brand-new Grand Canyon Service Center, a regional manufacturing facility located in Phoenix, Arizona (Lower Buckeye area).
Responsibilities
- Maintain all plant equipment in good operating condition to minimize downtime, optimize production, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform required maintenance and repair on machinery, equipment, and building structure.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment; perform planned maintenance of mechanical aspects of plant, office, machinery, and equipment.
- Adjust and repair clutches, brakes, lubricating systems, paint systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and pumps.
- Install new equipment, ensuring it is production-ready and meets all safety guidelines.
- Perform basic electrical work.
- Provide after-hours support and guidance to the maintenance and engineering teams.
- Perform special assignments and projects as assigned.
- Actively participate in safety and improvement projects.
- Promote a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws, including AADG programs, policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Completion of a Technical School program and/or certification in an Industrial Maintenance program preferred.
- 3+ years of previous industrial maintenance experience required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Previous experience or working knowledge of CNC punching machines, lasers, forming presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot PLC programming with RS logic control.
- Experience reading schematics and drawings, specifically electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
- Ability to understand mechanical concepts and reason out solutions to problems.
- Previous experience using a work order system.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle tasks with competing priorities.
