Sr. Financial Systems Analyst

This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining day-to-day financial systems operations, supporting month-end and quarter-end system activities, troubleshooting system issues, managing user access and system changes, and assisting with system enhancements and integrations. The contractor will report to the Associate Director, Financial Systems and Compliance and will work closely with Finance and Accounting stakeholders, IT, external consultants, and application vendors. This position is expected to be a 6–8 month contract assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on administration and day-to-day support for Finance and Accounting systems, including NetSuite, Bill.com, Auxilius, FloQast, Optro, Concur, and related applications.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Finance Systems support requests, including reviewing, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving requests submitted through Freshservice ticketing system.
  • Support Finance and Accounting teams during month-end and quarter-end close, including troubleshooting system issues, supporting recurring system activities, and helping ensure critical financial systems processes are completed timely.
  • Perform routine system administration activities, including user setup and deactivation, role and permission changes, configuration updates, workflow maintenance, and other application administration activities in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve financial system issues involving system configurations, workflows, integrations, data inconsistencies, user access, and system errors, coordinating with IT, vendors, and external consultants as necessary.
  • Support ongoing financial systems enhancements and process improvements, including gathering business requirements, evaluating solutions, coordinating configuration or development activities, conducting user acceptance testing, and documenting all testing performed.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate IT and SOX controls over financial systems, including user access, system changes, configurations, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounting stakeholders, IT, external consultants, and application vendors on system enhancements, production issues, integrations, and other Finance Systems initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to financial systems, including gathering system information and documentation as needed.
  • Assist with testing and deployment of system changes, including documenting requirements, coordinating user acceptance testing, validating results, and communicating changes to impacted users.
  • Develop or update user guidance and training materials and provide training or support to Finance and Accounting users as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, simplify, and automate Finance and Accounting processes while maintaining appropriate financial and IT controls.
  • Support special projects and other Finance Systems activities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • CISA, CPA, CIA, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting financial systems, Finance technology, accounting systems, or related business applications.
  • Experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience administering or supporting NetSuite including familiarity with roles and permissions, workflows, saved searches/reports, configurations, and general system administration. NetSuite certification is a plus.
  • Experience with one or more additional Finance applications such as Bill.com, FloQast, Concur, financial planning/accrual systems, SOX/compliance platforms, or similar enterprise Finance applications preferred. Experience with Auxilius and/or Optro (formerly AuditBoard) is a plus.
  • Experience working with ticketing or service management platforms such as Freshservice, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of core Accounting and Finance processes, including month-end and quarter-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, procure-to-pay, expense management, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to translate Finance and Accounting requirements into clear functional or technical requirements for IT teams, consultants, and application vendors.
  • Experience supporting system integrations, workflow automation, and data flows between enterprise applications including gathering business requirements, supporting system enhancements, and coordinating or performing user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and IT controls, particularly user access management, change management, segregation of duties, and documentation requirements. Experience supporting financial systems within a public company and/or SOX-regulated environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot system and data issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions across business, IT, vendors, and consultants.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple requests, issues, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment with limited supervision.

Pay

Target salary of $70/hour.
