Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in the Finance organization. They are responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models, performing sensitivity analyses, and collaborating with various business units to drive strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Fundamentally, the FP&A team will elevate the team by providing advanced analytics, dashboards, and presentations.
• Utilize macro-economic forecasts to perform sensitivity analysis on portfolio drivers and assess impacts from key indicators.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of finance and accounting reports based on knowledge of systems and GAAP standards.
• Partner with business units across the organization to provide recommendations on strategic changes using summarized financial data.
• Lead model validation and process documentation efforts on behalf of the finance team.
• Oversee the monthly maintenance and analysis of budget software, making recommendations for income and expense allocation, and ensuring GL and planning databases are synchronized.
• Support near-term projects, including the implementation of a new budgeting system, Empyrean.
• Analyze internal and external drivers of credit union performance and trends, suggesting alternative performance measures based on a deep understanding of Patelco’s goals.
• Provide insightful commentary to executive leadership, inspect performance-to-date metrics, and assess potential risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analysis as needed for departmental and organizational projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a concentration in accounting or finance.
• MBA or other graduate degree desirable.
• 5+ years of experience in FP&A or finance division, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Regular use of Empyrean and Prologue, or other planning tools and general ledger systems.
• Ability to navigate and communicate statistical results.
• In-depth knowledge of deposit or lending products.
• Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills, capable of handling large volumes of data, validating with v-lookups and pivot tables, and formatting data clearly and presentably.

Position Details

Position is in-office at our Dublin, California Headquarters. The target base pay is $105,004 - $131,259 per year.
