Sr Field Engineer - Structured Cabling
Field Engineering Responsibilities
- Oversee submitting changes to SoW.
- Complete and submit redlines to engineering.
- Create internal calendar for tracking tasks and deadlines.
- Manage build-out, which involves significant redlining due to measurements, equipment placements, and grounding/bonding.
- Check and verify fiber scope updates based on IES customer designs.
- Use an internal tracker for tracking changes.
- Ensure copper installations adhere to design/spec.
- Use internal tracker for scope management.
- Collaborate with team to configure network details if necessary.
- Handle RFI referencing and implementation.
- Refer to RFIs during redline creation.
- Work with team to finalize redlines for QA review.
- Run and verify test audits.
- Ensure testing projects match prints.
- Create and distribute testing packages.
- Conduct audits post-project completion.
- Finalize audits after retests are completed.
- Document lessons learned.
- Update lessons learned tracker throughout the build.
- Prepare standardized lessons learned templates for submission.
- Manage warranties.
- Collect and submit required documents for warranty processing.
- Complete product submittals.
- Prepare initial product submittal using a template.
- Verify BOM with POs and obtain product sheets.
- Print and distribute labels.
- Print labels before installation to save time.
- Oversee design work.
- Verify and brainstorm areas needing improvement.
- Submit shop drawings for review in BIM360.

Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 3-4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Knowledgeable in interpreting blueprints and project documents.
