Field Engineer I -Structured Cabling
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Install and operate most types of low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems in a senior service support role.
- Test, troubleshoot system components and functions, and verify connections, labels, and installation quality in the field.
- Create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-offs.
- Manage technical work in the field with minimal supervision.
- Assist with project installations, supporting field staff and project managers.
- Provide advanced support for field installation staff.
- Maintain and complete project punch-lists for project close-outs.
- Oversight of technical aspects of projects.
- Quality-check projects, test all equipment and functionality, and create punch lists.
- Assist sales staff with product and system demonstrations.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned.

- Must have proven high skill level in interpreting blueprints and other project documents.
Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- At least 3-4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
- Meet Company minimum driving standards.
Pay
Min USD $22.00/Hr. Max USD $36.00/Hr.
Schedule
Full-time, direct hire position.

About the Role
The Field Engineer I will be able to install and operate most types of low-voltage/structured cabling systems and equipment. They will understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals, and be able to create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-offs. The Field Engineer I will manage technical work in the field with little supervision, provide advanced support for field installation staff, and maintain and complete project punch-lists for project close-outs. They will also oversee the technical aspects of projects, quality-check projects, test all equipment and functionality, and create punch lists. Additionally, they will assist with sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations and handle other responsibilities as assigned.
