Sr. Executive Sourcer

About the role

Perplexity is seeking an experienced Executive Sourcer to collaborate with our most senior executives and recruiting leaders. This role is for those who can influence, drive, and curate against a vision while navigating the ambiguity inherent in building one of the industry’s most talent-dense AI organizations. It demands operational excellence, compelling narrative crafting, and a deep understanding of the AI and technical ecosystem. You will track AI-driven recruitment trends and deploy emerging tools to uncover hidden talent signals ahead of the market.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and engage senior engineering and technical leadership—from managers to executives—across multiple disciplines.
• Use a wide range of sourcing strategies, including advanced research, org-level talent mapping, referrals, network development, AI-assisted automation, and creative outreach to build credible slates for hard-to-fill leadership roles.
• Partner with leadership recruiters and executives to deeply understand each role’s charter, calibrate profiles with accuracy, and push back when market signals indicate misalignment in scope or level.
• Run discreet, peer-level outreach to engage leaders who aren’t actively seeking new roles, with the discretion required for confidential searches.
• Track and analyze pipeline data—such as coverage against talent maps, response rates, conversion metrics, and pass reasons—to continuously optimize search strategies.
• Operate with agility, adapting quickly to shifting priorities, confidential searches, and evolving team needs.

Requirements

• Exceptional technical literacy, with the ability to navigate complex technical conversations, parse nuanced skill sets, and understand the architecture of software and AI roles—plus the judgment to assess scope of ownership and org-building track records.
• Proven experience sourcing senior and leadership talent in highly dynamic, fast-paced environments where priorities shift and ambiguity is constant.
• A builder’s instinct for AI: eagerness to adopt new tools, automate workflows, and experiment with AI to enhance sourcing efficiency and precision.
• Creativity and resilience: the ability to design novel sourcing strategies, test new methods, and adapt quickly to challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to engage in peer-level conversations with senior leaders and build trust with candidates and internal partners.
• A mindset that thrives on curiosity, iteration, and impact, aligned with Perplexity AI’s ethos of building what hasn’t been built before.

Pay

Compensation range: $150,000 – $185,000.
