About the role

As an Electrical Engineer in our Advanced Manufacturing group, you’ll contribute to projects that enable the heart of our clients’ successful data center facilities engineering, design, and construction. In this role, you will work on projects including engineering and design of data centers and other mission-critical facilities. This position is location-flexible in the U.S.

You’ll provide design work, contribute to team technical collaboration, perform quality reviews of design packages, and assist directly with other portions of the design process. You may also interact directly with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site. You and the other members of your electrical design team will work closely with the broader multi-discipline team in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and design data center facility power distribution systems, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems in complex industrial facilities.
  • Design retrofit of existing building systems to accommodate clients’ evolving requirements.
  • Manage quality, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in engineering design of medium and low-voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution including conveyance.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with industrial facility design.
  • Working knowledge of Revit or BIM software.
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • At least 3 years of data center facility design experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Passion for buildings and construction.
  • Experience in the design of large projects established on greenfield sites.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $120,400.00 to $188,125.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

Hybrid working policy allowing employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
