Responsibilities
- Strategic Program Planning: Defining program scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with business strategy, collaborating with stakeholders to establish clear expectations.
- Team Leadership: Managing and developing a team of program managers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration across diverse functions.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking program progress against key metrics, identifying potential risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies, and regularly communicating updates to senior leadership.
- Budget Management: Overseeing program budgets, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring cost-efficiency throughout the program lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Management: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, cross-functional teams, and external partners, to align program goals and address concerns.
- Change Management: Leading change initiatives within the program, managing stakeholder expectations, and facilitating smooth transitions during implementation.
- Risk Mitigation: Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation plans, and proactively addressing issues to minimize program impact.
- Process Improvement: Implementing best practices in program management, identifying opportunities for optimization, and driving continuous improvement across teams.
- Talent Development: Coaching and mentoring program managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience including 5 years in project/program management in a customer-facing role
- Extensive program management experience in leading cross-functional teams on multiple complex software development and system integration projects
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a geographically distributed or matrix team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently
- Prior experience working with state or federal government agencies
- Excellent internal and external written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications including MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
- Demonstrated successful track record delivering complex information technology-based systems
- Ability to collaborate with and manage vendors as outlined in statement of work
