Position Summary

Energy Access Innovations (EAI) is seeking a Senior Director of Marketing to build and lead EAI's centralized marketing and branding function. The function operates as an internal agency to EAI's subsidiary companies across our residential, commercial, and utility-facing businesses, delivering brand strategy, demand generation, product marketing, communications, and digital services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and execute EAI's overall marketing strategy across brand, demand generation, product marketing, communications, and digital.
  • Own EAI brand standards and ensure subsidiary work stays within guardrails in a way that is collaborative, not bureaucratic.
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team; set goals, hire, coach, and develop talent across functional areas.
  • Build the team structure, tools, and workflows that allow one central team to serve multiple internal clients efficiently.
  • Own demand generation and pipeline contribution targets; partner closely with Sales and Revenue Operations on lead flow, conversion, and account-based programs.
  • Lead product marketing and go-to-market strategy for new and existing offerings, including positioning, messaging, pricing narratives, launches, and sales enablement.
  • Direct brand strategy, creative, and content to establish EAI as a category leader in energy access and clean energy innovation.
  • Oversee corporate communications, PR, thought leadership, and executive visibility, including media relations and key industry events.
  • Manage digital marketing, website, SEO/SEM, marketing automation, and the broader martech stack; ensure clean data, attribution, and reporting.
  • Develop and steward the marketing budget; prioritize investments based on ROI, pipeline impact, and strategic value.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Policy teams to align messaging with roadmap, customer experience, and regulatory context.
  • Support investor, partner, and policymaker engagement with narrative, collateral, and data that reinforce EAI's market position.
  • Internal agency operations: establish intake processes, service offerings, SLAs, and capacity planning so subsidiaries have a clear and consistent engagement model.
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to subsidiary leadership, translating their business objectives into brand and marketing support.

Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable building the plan and executing in the details.
  • Strong commercial instincts; fluent in pipeline, funnel metrics, CAC/LTV, and marketing-sourced revenue.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator; able to craft narratives that resonate with technical, commercial, and policy audiences.
  • Proven people leader who can attract, develop, and retain marketing talent across disciplines.
  • Data-driven and analytical, with a strong command of marketing analytics, attribution, and experimentation.
  • Cross-functional collaborator who builds trust quickly with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Executive teams.
  • Mission-aligned with EAI's work to expand clean, reliable energy access; comfortable operating in a fast-moving, resource-conscious environment.
  • High ownership, bias to action, and ability to navigate ambiguity in a scaling organization.
  • Experience 12+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience leading an in-house agency, shared services marketing function, or marketing center of excellence is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success scaling marketing in B2B, B2B2C, or hardware/cleantech environments; energy, climate, utilities, or infrastructure experience strongly preferred.
  • Track record of driving measurable pipeline and revenue growth through integrated demand generation and product marketing programs.
  • Experience leading brand and communications strategy at a growth-stage or scaling company.
  • Strong command of modern martech (e.g., HubSpot/Marketo, Salesforce, analytics, CMS, ABM tools) and digital marketing best practices.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience working with executive leadership, boards, investors, or external policy/regulatory stakeholders preferred.
