About the Role
The Senior Director, Development (Data Center Construction) will serve as QTS’ primary point of contact for new client builds and implementations, liaising between the QTS Sales Team (Account Executive and Sales Engineer), the QTS Operations Team, the QTS Property Development Team, and the Customer. This role ensures customers’ needs are met to high expectations and reports into the QTS Property Development department, collaborating closely with the CHO and CRO depending on project origin.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location.
- Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team and supporting specialty consultants to address customer design needs, pricing, approvals, and implementation of specific deployment scopes.
- Align clients’ objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization to drive project delivery.
- Drive effective client relationship management and cost management to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Serve as a single point of contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or Architecture.
- Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in the development of Mission Critical Facilities.
- Five or more years of experience in data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers.
- Ability to travel as needed for business.
Skills
- Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects.
- Knowledge of Construction Health & Safety.
- Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment (RCDD a plus).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff.
- Ability to influence cross-discipline teams.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations in a high-growth company.
