About the role
The Director, Development (Data Center Construction) role at QTS Data Centers is pivotal in managing the deployment of new client builds and implementations. This position serves as the main point of contact for the QTS Sales Team, the QTS Operations Team, and the Customer. The role involves coordinating with the QTS Property Development team and specialty consultants to support customer design needs, pricing, customer approvals, and implementation of specific deployment scopes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location
- Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team and supporting specialty consultants to support customer’s design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes
- Deliver projects that align clients' objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization
- Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget
- Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
- Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities
- Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers
- Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects
- Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge
- Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment, RCDD a plus
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff
- Ability to influence cross-discipline teams
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company
Qualifications
