About the role

Join a supportive environment where you can work alongside experienced software engineers and technical specialists. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software products offered by HealthStream, aligning with technology best practices and product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned training.
  • Operational/Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts, trace defects/functionality back to the related source code, determine scope of impact of changes, participate in code deployments, collaborate with QA on test case development, use IDEs, and utilize AI tooling.
  • Communication: Translate technical aspects of work to non-technical co-workers and contribute clear and concise solution documentation.
  • Leadership: Provide solution design, employ architectural patterns, guide contractors and other technical staff, engage shared services in design discussions, stay informed on productivity tooling updates, and mentor the team.
  • Technical Knowledge: Work with product development teams to solve UX challenges, have PHP and Symfony experience, and possess a solid grasp on the functionality of the products maintained by the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, consulting, or a related occupation.
  • PHP and Symfony experience.
  • Experience working with product development teams to solve complex UX challenges within technical constraints.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to team members both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to translate technical aspects of work to non-technical co-workers and contribute clear and concise solution documentation.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and ability to advise other disciplines when needed.
  • Attention to time management, professional conduct, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • A solid grasp on the functionality of the products maintained by the team and a cursory knowledge of all products within the product family.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to drive solutions for the product and within the team.
  • Able to effectively communicate with those outside of the immediate team to collaborate and coordinate on common concerns.
  • Exhibit appropriate attention to time management, professional conduct, and adherence to corporate policies.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $93,000 - $125,000. Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications. Compensation will be commensurate with skills, relevant experience, and performance in similar roles.
