About the role

The Department of Medicine at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, is seeking a Sr. Department Administrator, Clinical to provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the Division of Digestive Health and Liver Disease.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in developing business strategies and tactics to support the goals of the division and overall Health System’s strategic plans for market growth and development.
  • Heads performance management processes and outcomes for employees and physicians.
  • Guides managers in developing skills in and implementation of performance management practices.
  • Sustains professional development of the workforce.
  • Performs needs assessments to determine continuing education needs of staff.
  • Maintains staff and physician satisfaction.
  • Administers oversight to the division’s practices, supporting the employment of quality improvement processes.
  • Pursues the spread of best practice in operations, consistent with overall network goals.
  • Directs the planning and strategic formation of the clinical program’s goals.
  • Directs the development of policies and procedures for network-wide use in the clinical activities of the practices.
  • Analyzes and reviews financial and productivity reports.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
