Sr Construction Quality Control Manager

About the role

This position may be assigned to one of Fluor’s Operation Centers or to a specific project. The role provides services to manage the site quality program on projects, typically as the Site Quality Manager. On very large projects, this person may report to a Director of Quality. The objective is to ensure projects comply with the quality requirements stipulated in prime contracts.

Responsibilities

• Organize and prioritize complex projects and multiple tasks effectively, meeting critical deadlines.
• Provide Quality input to site-issued purchase orders or contract bid documents.
• Assist the site manager with resolution of client complaints related to quality.
• Develop site-specific quality procedures as necessary to support the project.
• Manage one or more Construction Quality Managers/Supervisors and their subordinate inspection staff across multiple project areas.
• Enforce and champion the requirements of the site quality program, including processing revisions as needed.
• Act as a Lead Auditor to plan, perform, and report quality audits of construction activities.
• Perform physical inspections of discipline activities, including but not limited to: welding, piping, civil, concrete, buildings, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma or global equivalent in an applicable field of study, plus fifteen (15) years of work-related experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and directly related experience totaling seventeen (17) years if no accreditation is held. Some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete principal duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of work experience, with at least six (6) years in supervision or management.
• Certification by a recognized authority (e.g., ASNT, AWS, API, NACE) is preferred. Personnel performing welding examinations, inspections, or reviewing radiographs must be capable of passing Fluor’s internal certifications for visual examiners/inspectors and radiographic interpreters.

Pay

Salary range: $119,500.00 – $222,500.00. The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range, with final salary determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.

Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Background checks, including education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications, and Global Watchlist screening, are conducted as part of any conditional offer.
